Flood Relief Activities–Pakistan 2022! As HEART geared up for the Turkiye/Syria earthquake fundraising, we would like to share with our esteemed members and donors some details, regarding the fundraising & distribution activities of the last year (2022) floods that wreaked havoc in Pakistan. With your help and support, HEART raised and donated $70,000 during the months of October and November 2022. This amount included $25,000 from HEART’s fund and $45,000 from our generous donors. In total, HEART helped 514 families, donating PKR Rs. 25,000/ per household whose house, farmland, or business/shop had been badly damaged or completely destroyed. After thorough vetting, the funds were distributed among; 157 families in Baluchistan, 124 families in Sind, 117 families in Swat, and 118 families in D.I. Khan. In Baluchistan and Sind, the flood rehabilitation funds were personally distributed by HEART’s Director, Shakeel Abbas, who travelled about 3,000 kms, all the way from Peshawar to the two worst hit areas of Baluchistan, Usta Muhammad, and Jhal Magsi, and Larkana in Sind. These were some of the difficult floods hit areas but Shakeel Abbas managed it very well.
